Who I Am I am Julio Cervantes, a person-centred psychotherapist using an eclectic approach to counselling. I believe in empowering clients to reach their fullest potential and promoting a healthier wellbeing through support and guidance using a range of psychotherapies. I am a bilingual therapist with over ten years experience in the mental health field helping individuals, couples and families. What I've Done How I Work My approach is based in strengths-based and solution-focused therapy. I have worked in private practice and community mental health clinics in the United States as a Licensed Professional Counselor, and I am now a registered therapist with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP). Training and Qualifications My education and training was completed in the United States. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Expressive Therapy, integrating psychology and counselling theories with the creative arts. My Master’s Degree is in Community Counselling. Advanced Studies Training was continued at the Sky Center in New Mexico learning short-term counselling models in addition to family systems model and group counselling. I currently hold a license in the state of Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor, as well. Personal Statement I have helped many people by strengthening their resilience, social skills, and self-expression. Some of my clients have experienced loss, trauma, and high conflict. I challenge my clients in sessions and additional assignments are sometimes given in order to further individual growth. I encourage you to find someone you feel comfortable with and meets you where you are in your life so that you can work together on reaching your personal goals.
